Quantum Leap: Infleqtion Soars 41%, Leads Weekly Gainers $NBIS

Quantum Computing Stocks Dominate Weekly Winners

US-listed large caps closed the week ending Friday, 14 August 2026, with a clear theme: quantum computing and AI infrastructure. Nebius Group N.V. ($NBIS) led the pack with a 41% surge, followed by Everpure, Inc. (+34%), Super Micro Computer ($SMCI, +33%), Sandisk Corporation ($SNDK, +25%), Space Exploration Tech ($SPCX, +22%), Marathon Petroleum Corp ($MPC, +20%), and MongoDB, Inc. ($MDB, +20%). The standout mover was Infleqtion, Inc. ($INFQ), which posted record quarterly results and raised its full-year outlook, sending shares up sharply.

Infleqtion’s Record Quarter: Revenue Up 116%

Infleqtion, a leader in neutral-atom quantum computing, reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $12.6 million, up 116% year over year, with 100% organic growth entirely from quantum products. The company raised its full-year 2026 revenue outlook to approximately $43 million. CEO Matt Kinsella attributed the acceleration to government and commercial demand, noting, “Governments are putting dates and dollars behind quantum.” The company ended the quarter with $582 million in cash and no debt, though it expects to remit $27.4 million in payroll taxes in Q3, a temporary working-capital benefit.

Government Contracts and Utility-Scale Roadmap

Infleqtion’s momentum is underpinned by a proposed $100 million funding commitment from the U.S. Department of Commerce, following a technology review. The company was also selected for three Department of Energy Genesis Mission projects spanning AI, nuclear applications, and quantum sensing. On the technical front, Infleqtion remains on track to deliver 30 logical qubits in 2026 and plans a quantum computer in Illinois in 2027, designed to scale beyond 50 logical qubits through modular upgrades. These milestones validate its commercialization path and position it for utility-scale quantum computing.

Market Context: AI and Quantum Sentiment Lifts Peers

The broader rally in quantum and AI-related names reflects sustained investor appetite for next-generation computing. Nebius Group, an AI infrastructure provider, gained 41% on continued demand for cloud services. Super Micro Computer, a server maker, rose 33% on AI server orders. Sandisk’s 25% gain came amid memory price increases. Even Marathon Petroleum, up 20%, benefited from a broader energy rally, though its move was less directly tied to tech themes. The concentration of gains in quantum and AI suggests a sector rotation driven by government spending and enterprise adoption.

What to Watch: Q3 Remittance and Quantum Milestones

Investors should track Infleqtion’s Q3 cash flow, specifically the $27.4 million payroll tax remittance, which will test its operating burn. More importantly, the company’s ability to hit 30 logical qubits by year-end 2026 will be a key catalyst. Any delays in DOE or Commerce funding could temper momentum. For the broader group, watch whether AI infrastructure spending sustains into Q4, as order books and backlog data from SMCI and NBIS will confirm the durability of this week’s gains.
