MEXC Reports 21% MoM Growth in New-Token Traders and 31% Increase in Tokenized Stock Trading Volume in August $BTC

  • MEXC reported a 21% month-over-month rise in the number of users trading new tokens in August 2026.
  • Tokenized stock trading volume climbed 31% month over month, driving a 13% increase in overall TradFi Spot volume.
  • The top 10 new tokens by peak gain averaged a 3,358% peak gain, up 145% month over month, led by Niu Lai at 14,143%.
  • Precious metals Futures volume rose 32% month over month, with XAU up 57% and SILVER up 39%, while XAUT fell 10%.
  • Three flagship campaigns each carried a 1 million USDT prize pool; the TradFi campaign drew more than 174,000 registrations.

MEXC, the multi-asset trading platform founded in 2018, published August 2026 trading data showing simultaneous expansion in both early-stage crypto tokens and tokenized traditional finance assets. The company said the number of users trading new tokens rose 21% month over month, while its TradFi Spot business grew 13%, led by a 31% increase in tokenized stock trading volume. The figures cover a month in which activity broadened across asset classes rather than concentrating in a single segment.

New Tokens: Memecoins Lead, Utility Follows

In the new-token market, the top 10 tokens by peak gain recorded an average peak gain of 3,358%, up 145% month over month. Niu Lai (牛来) ranked first with a peak gain of 14,143%. Five of those top-gain tokens also placed among the top 10 by Spot trading volume, and together those five accounted for 65% of trading volume among the ten most-traded new tokens.

By sector, memecoins dominated volume: five memecoins among the top 10 by trading volume contributed 55% of the total, while AI, real-world asset (RWA), DeFi, and cross-chain infrastructure projects made up the remaining 45%. That split suggests speculative appetite and utility-focused interest coexisted during the month, even as memecoins set the pace on raw volume.

Tokenized Stocks and Precious Metals Diverge

On the TradFi side, tokenized stocks were the main engine of Spot growth. Tokenized stock trading volume rose 31% month over month, with CRCL, NBIS, and SPCX ranking among the top 10 assets by trading volume. Gold-related assets stayed active as well: GOLD (PAXG) volume increased 43% month over month and ranked first in TradFi Spot.

Precious metals Futures showed a more uneven picture. Total precious metals Futures volume rose 32% month over month, keeping the category the largest asset class by volume in TradFi Futures. Within it, XAU volume increased 57% and SILVER rose 39%, while XAUT declined 10% — indicating growth was concentrated in XAU and silver-linked assets rather than spread evenly across the group.

Campaigns and Cross-Asset Access

MEXC said it supported the higher activity with three flagship campaigns during the month, focused on TradFi, xStocks, and MOVE, each carrying a total prize pool of 1 million USDT. The “TradFi Million-Dollar Gala” attracted more than 174,000 registrations and generated average daily trading volume of 4.2 billion USDT, according to the company. The xStocks campaign featured tokenized stocks including NVDAX, CRCLX, and TSLAX.

CEO Vugar Usi framed the results around convenience and cross-asset coverage, saying users want fast access when new trading opportunities emerge and that the platform will keep expanding its coverage while reducing friction between markets. MEXC describes itself as serving users across more than 170 markets with zero trading fees, offering crypto, stocks, tokenized assets, and derivatives through a single account. The August data points to a platform betting that retail traders will increasingly move between early-stage tokens, tokenized equities, and precious metals without leaving one venue — a thesis that will be tested as competition in tokenized traditional assets intensifies.
