Ethereum, XRP, ADA, BNB, HYPE: Range-Bound Crypto $ETH

Ethereum Holds $1,800 Support Amid Low Volatility

Ethereum (ETH) continued its sideways drift this week, trading in a narrow range beneath the $2,000 resistance level. The $1,800 support has been re-confirmed, with buyers stepping in to defend the level during recent dips. This consolidation follows a broader market lull, with ETH’s 30-day realized volatility near multi-month lows, as traders await a directional catalyst.

The lack of volatility has allowed the price to build a base, but it also reflects indecision among market participants. On-chain data shows stable exchange inflows, suggesting that neither accumulation nor distribution is dominating. If ETH breaks below $1,800, the next major support sits at $1,700, a level that has held since May. Conversely, a sustained move above $2,000 would signal a bullish breakout, but that requires a surge in trading volume.

XRP and ADA: Consolidation With Diverging Fundamentals

Ripple (XRP) and Cardano (ADA) are also range-bound, but their underlying drivers differ. XRP has been supported by ongoing legal clarity following the SEC ruling, yet it remains capped near $0.60, with resistance at $0.65. Cardano, on the other hand, has seen declining development activity, which may explain its weaker price action relative to other majors.

Both assets are trading below their 50-day moving averages, indicating short-term bearish momentum. However, XRP’s correlation with Bitcoin has weakened, allowing it to trade on its own news flow. ADA’s next major support is at $0.35, and a break below that could trigger a sell-off toward $0.30. For XRP, a close above $0.65 would open the path to $0.70, but that requires a broader risk-on sentiment.

BNB Holds Key Support While HYPE Faces Volatility

Binance Coin (BNB) has been the steadiest of the group, holding above $500 for the past two weeks. The exchange token benefits from BNB Chain’s continued usage, with daily transaction fees averaging $2 million. However, regulatory overhangs in the US and Europe keep the upside limited, with resistance at $550.

Hyperliquid (HYPE) is a newer addition, and its price has been more volatile, reflecting its smaller market cap and lower liquidity. HYPE has been trading between $10 and $15, with a recent spike in open interest suggesting speculative interest. The token’s future depends on adoption of its perpetuals platform, which has seen a 20% increase in trading volume over the past month, but that has yet to translate into a sustained price trend.

What to Watch: Key Levels and Macro Triggers

For Ethereum, the critical level to watch is $1,800. A daily close below this would invalidate the current support and likely lead to a test of $1,700. On the upside, a break above $2,000 with volume would confirm a bullish reversal, but that may require a broader market catalyst, such as a dovish Fed pivot or a Bitcoin ETF inflow surge.

For XRP and ADA, the next major test comes with the release of US inflation data on August 10. If inflation cools, risk assets could rally, pushing XRP above $0.65 and ADA above $0.40. Conversely, hot inflation would likely reinforce the current ranges. For BNB and HYPE, regulatory news and platform metrics will be the key drivers, with BNB’s $500 support and HYPE’s $10 floor being the levels to watch.
