XRP ETFs Soar as Ripple Token Hits 7-Month High $XRP

Ripple ETFs Post Best Week Since May on XRP Surge

XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded their strongest weekly inflows since May, driven by a sharp rally in the underlying token to a seven-month high. Friday’s session was the best day for these funds, with net inflows outpacing those seen in Bitcoin and Ether ETFs, according to data compiled by industry trackers.

What Drove the XRP Rally to $2.80?

XRP climbed as high as $2.80 on Friday, its highest level since January, before settling near $2.70. The move came amid renewed optimism over the token’s regulatory outlook and increased institutional interest, as evidenced by the ETF inflows. Traders pointed to a combination of positive court rulings and growing adoption by financial institutions as key catalysts.

The surge in XRP ETF inflows suggests that investors are increasingly viewing the token as a viable alternative to Bitcoin and Ethereum, particularly in light of its faster transaction speeds and lower fees. While Bitcoin ETFs saw modest inflows, XRP ETFs saw a notable spike, indicating a shift in capital allocation within the crypto asset class.

Comparing Inflows: XRP vs. BTC and ETH Funds

On Friday alone, XRP ETFs attracted approximately $45 million in net inflows, surpassing the combined inflows of Bitcoin and Ether ETFs, which totaled around $30 million. Over the week, XRP ETFs accumulated $120 million, their best performance since the third week of May, when they recorded $98 million in inflows.

This divergence highlights a growing appetite for altcoin exposure among institutional investors, who have traditionally favored the two largest cryptocurrencies. The relative strength of XRP ETFs may also reflect a rotation strategy, as some funds rebalance away from crowded Bitcoin positions.

Regulatory Clarity and Institutional Adoption

The rally in XRP comes against a backdrop of improved regulatory clarity. In July 2026, a federal judge ruled that programmatic sales of XRP on exchanges did not constitute securities transactions, a decision that removed a major overhang for the token. This ruling has encouraged several asset managers to launch or expand XRP ETF products.

Institutional adoption has also accelerated, with major banks in Asia and Europe adding XRP to their cross-border payment systems. Ripple’s partnership with more than 30 financial institutions over the past quarter has bolstered confidence in the token’s long-term utility, further supporting ETF inflows.

What to Watch: Next Price Catalyst and ETF Flows

Investors should monitor whether XRP can sustain its momentum above the $2.80 level, which now acts as immediate resistance. A break above this threshold could open the door to further gains, with the next target near $3.00, a psychological level.

The key number to watch is the next weekly ETF flow report, due out Friday, August 28, 2026. If inflows continue at the current pace, it would confirm that institutional demand is not a one-off event. Conversely, a sharp drop in inflows or a pullback in XRP price below $2.50 would signal that the rally is losing steam.
