Strategy News: Significant New Bitcoin Acquisition
Strategy, the Bitcoin proxy company steered by Michael Saylor, has once again captured the spotlight with its recent Bitcoin acquisition. In a recent SEC filing, Strategy disclosed the purchase of 705 BTC between May 26 and June 1, increasing its vast holdings to a staggering 580,955 Bitcoins. The strategy news broke out, signaling the firm’s continued bullish stance on Bitcoin amid fluctuating market conditions.
Continued Investment Amidst Market Volatility
The company invested $75.1 million in this latest transaction, averaging about $106,495 per Bitcoin. Currently, Strategy’s total Bitcoin investment stands at approximately $40.68 billion, with an average purchase price of $70,023 per Bitcoin. Following this announcement, Strategy’s stock price (MSTR) saw a 0.9% increase to $372.72. In contrast, broader market indices like the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite showed modest gains of 0.4% and 0.7%, respectively.
Despite Bitcoin’s recent peak at $111,800, the cryptocurrency experienced a 6% correction. However, Strategy has consistently leveraged these price dips to augment its holdings, marking its eighth consecutive week of purchases.
Exploring the Depth of Strategy’s Bitcoin Holdings
Michael Saylor recently hinted at this acquisition via social media, later confirming a remarkable year-to-date Bitcoin yield of 16.9% as of June 1, 2025. However, blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence suggests Strategy might hold even more Bitcoins than reported—potentially nearing 625,000 BTC valued at about $59.92 billion. Arkham has tracked 97% of Saylor’s holdings, revealing significant assets not previously acknowledged publicly. Notably, a substantial portion of these holdings are in Fidelity Digital’s omnibus custody, which isn’t listed under Strategy due to specific custody arrangements.
